Consummation

Scripture foretells of a coming day when there will be a New Heaven and New Earth (Revelation 21:4), where believers will experience their final and permanent place of rest and eternal worship of God. The following is true concerning the doctrine of consummation:

• The return of Jesus Christ to earth, which is imminent, signals the initiation of the Consummation.
• All of creation will be restored to its original, created goodness.
• There will be a New Heaven and New Earth (Revelation 21:1-6).
• All true believers from all of human history will enter into an eternal state of rest with God.
